Is Live PD still running?

Live PD premiered on the A&E network on October 28, 2016. The show’s four seasons aired on the channel by May 23, 2020. But in June 2020, A&E confirmed that the show will be canceled after the murder of George Floyd and protests against police brutality across the country. 

Live PD and its spin-offs ceased along with many other popular topic-related shows, including FOX’s Cops. At the same time, show producers kept defending the portrayal of police officers in the series.

What is Live PD about?

Live PD is a documentary series produced by the A&E network. The show follows police departments across the US, offering an insight into their patrolling routine in real-time. In the studio, analysts Tom Morris Jr. and sergeant Sean “Sticks” Larkin discuss those events, explaining them to the public.

In 2016, when this law enforcement agency was still participating in Live PD, the show’s producers offered him to join the series as an analyst. But even after becoming a TV star, Sean didn’t quit his job as a police officer.

Since Live PD was one of the main A&E headliners when it aired (the channel’s ratings dropped by almost 50% when it ceased), the channel produced multiple spin-offs of the series. Here are the most notable ones:

• Live PD: Wanted. In this series hosted by Tom Morris Jr. police officers look for fugitives across the US.
