Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold and Rollable Designs Leaked in Patent Docs
There have been plenty of rumors circulating about Samsung’s efforts to develop rollable and tri-fold smartphones, sparking excitement among tech enthusiasts.
These devices are expected to push the boundaries of mobile technology, offering innovative designs that combine flexibility with functionality.
Today, in collaboration with David from @xleaks7, we uncovered some fascinating patent documents that may provide a first look at these groundbreaking devices—the Galaxy Tri-Fold and Galaxy Rollable.
These patents likely reveal the designs of Samsung’s upcoming smartphones, giving us a glimpse into what could be the future of foldable and rollable technology.
Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold Design
The schematics found in the patent document show a phone with a new three-fold design, suggesting that Samsung is working on more advanced folding technology than their current foldable phones.
When fully unfolded, the Tri-Fold phone would become a larger, tablet-sized screen, giving users a lot more display space.
We can also see that the main section of the tri-fold smartphone, which houses the back camera, is noticeably thicker than the other two sections. When the two thinner parts are folded, their combined thickness is almost the same as the main part.
The design includes a unique hinge system that allows the phone to fold in two places, making it compact when closed and much larger when opened.
The patent also shows where the camera might be placed, hinting that Samsung could be trying to make the phone more efficient and useful, especially for people who want to multitask or watch videos.
Samsung Galaxy Rollable Design
The design shows a phone that can roll out its display upwards, providing a larger screen when needed, while remaining compact square-shaped device when not in use.
The idea behind this design is to give users a bigger screen without making the device bulky.
When folded, the phone looks similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip, with a small, square shape. This suggests that Samsung is combining the easy-to-carry design of foldable phones with the new rollable screen technology.
The bezels, as shown in the patent images, seem minimal, allowing for more screen area when the display is fully rolled out.
On the back, the camera module is positioned at the top, featuring what looks like a dual-camera system. The camera placement and design resemble those found in other Samsung foldable models, indicating that the company is keeping a consistent look.
This leak shows that Samsung is continuing to innovate with foldable phones, and the Tri-Fold concept could lead to a phone that can be both a regular smartphone and a tablet. If it becomes a real product, the Galaxy Tri-Fold could change how we use mobile devices, offering more flexibility in one device.
